What is Code 95?

The code 95 on your licence signifies that you have completed the initial training for professional drivers. All professionals with a C (truck or bus) or D (bus licence) must pass this course.

Professional bus and truck drivers

Regular training

The Code 95 indication on a driving license is required for all drivers who work professionally transporting passengers and goods in the European Union. It means that these drivers have undergone a minimum of 35 hours training over a five-year period, in the country where they live or work. Truck drivers who have the code 95 on their licence must complete refresher training at least every five years to keep their driving license as a professional. In the Netherlands, the Central Bureau for Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, CBR) checks whether a driver has completed the training.

During the course, you will learn about tachograph operation and your rights and obligations as a truck driver. You will also get the opportunity to practice on-site maneuvers like coupling and uncoupling with the tractor and city driving. In addition, you will be required to take an exam at the end of the course.
